Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko competes as a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter for the UFC's flyweight division. Valentina Shevchenko, who is a former UFC Flyweight titleholder and UFC fellow fighter is her elder sister. Antonina Shevchenko started her combat sporting career as an Muay Thai Kickboxer and debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko took the title and defeated Suzane Miller in the finals via unanimous decision. Antonina received a gold medal in 2007, a silver medal in 2008, a silver in 2007 followed by an award of bronze in 2008 and a medal gold in the year 2011. She was also crowned IFMA World Amateur Muaythai Champion 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia started her professional journey back in 2003. Antonina has been awarded numerous titles including the K-1 World Championships Lion Fight Lightweight Championships, and WMC as well as Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina last fought against Isa Tidblad Kskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was able to win by a unanimous decision. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut came in 2002, during the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan when she faced Anara Bayanova. She was victorious via TKO during the 2nd round. She went on to win her two subsequent bouts, both at WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. She was awarded an MMA record of 3-0. Shevchenko stopped fighting to focus on kickboxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui at Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko won against Anissa via unanimous decision and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She resigned from the organization and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko knocked out Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina displayed her striking prowess by TKOing Nievera using knees. Following this victory Antonina was able to sign an UFC contract. Antonina Shychenko made her debut in the UFC at the Heavy Hitters event of TUF finals, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took victory in a unanimous victory, however she lost her second fight to Roxanne Modafferi via a split decision. Antonina bounced off the loss and fought Lucie Prudilova in UFC on ESPN Covingtonvs. Lawler with a rear naked choke. This was by far the most exciting fight of the night in the fight. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in the next three fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski and lost to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina lost to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO in the second round of UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
