Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American chef television personality and ex-teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host sporting spiky blonde hair and an ebullient personality, explains how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell has worked at New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine practices and the landscape. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. She pursued her love of working in the restaurant business by enrolment in The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute of being a student at The Culinary Institute of America she declares. It was hard to study how to do, or even work hard enough. After graduation, chef Burrell spent a period of time in Italy attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. In Italy she gained a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian food and culture. It has had a profound impact on the way that Burrell cooks. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to enhance the lives of children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about childhood diabetes. Burrell is often a guest speaker at conferences and travels throughout the United States as part of her mentorship role. Anne was always grateful that she was able to share her passion of her life, and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
